Election...

Election official result: Duda 34.76%, Komorowski 33.77%

Tuesday morning, the PKW announced the final results of the first round of Sunday’s presidential election. A Big surprise. The opinion polls was showing completely different scores.

In total, Andrzej Duda won in 28 out of 51 electoral districts, with Bronisław Komorowski winning in the remaing 23.
Generally Duda dominated districts such as Małopolska, Podlaskie, Podkarpackie and Świętokrzyskie provinces. In the meantime Komorowski won Wrocław, Jelenia Góra with Wałbrzych, Łódź, Katowice, Poznań. Besides Poznań was him the biggest electoral circle. With 47.4% !
But, the greatest astonishment was Pawel Kukiz, real dark horse of this election with his 20.8%.

The presidential poll is a precursor to the parliamentary elections in October. We can well see the rise of the ‘anti-system’ candidates. Poland is tired of endless conflict PO/PIS.

Anyway, in two weeks a second ballot! Go to the polls!

  1. I guess these elections will change a lot on our political scene, but I'm not sure if the changes are going to be for the better. So yes, by all means, do your duty, go and vote, and make sure you've voted wisely. In my opinion, people who don't vote have no right to complain about anything :)
